The Directorate of the Environmental Defense Service as Representative of the Armed Forces and Its Role in Environmental Protection, Year 2023

Abstract

The objective of the study was to determine the role of the Directorate of the Environmental Defense Service as a representative of the Armed Forces for environmental protection in the year 2023. A methodology with a mixed approach, non-experimental cross-sectional design, and descriptive level was used, applying surveys and interviews to a representative sample of the unit's personnel. The results showed that, although the unit executes inter-institutional support actions and has trained personnel, it faces limitations in operational equipment, personnel quota, and regulatory framework. It is concluded that strengthening operational and regulatory capabilities will allow consolidating the institutional role in sustainable environmental protection.
